Frequently Asked Questions

If your question or concern is not addressed here, please contact us.
Can I bring my pet’s food?

Yes. Some pets do not do well changing foods; it can cause stomach upset so if you would like your pet to continue on their normal food feel free to bring their food. We do ask that you pre-measure your pet’s food in ziplock bags/containers into individual serving portions marked with their name for ease and accountability.

Can I leave my pet’s collar on?
For your pet’s safety we will remove anything from around their neck including flea collars to eliminate a choking hazard.
Can I bring my pet’s bed or blanket?
We do not accept outside bedding or blankets as we wash bedding twice a day and would not want your bedding lost or damaged through our cleaning process. We supply bedding for each pet and would be happy to increase padding for older and arthritic pets; this service is included in your boarding rate.
Why does my pet need a bordetella vaccine prior to boarding?
Canine Cough is a contagious infection similar to a cold. By vaccinating 7 to 10 days prior to exposure to other pets, you will be giving your pet the best chance of not contracting it. Remember: The Bordetella vaccine is NOT 100% effective. There is always a potential of contracting Canine Cough when a pet is exposed to other pets. Please speak with your veterinarian if you have any questions about Canine Cough.
Why is my dog required to have a maintenance bath when staying four days or more?

We require any dog staying for four or more days to have a maintenance bath on the day of departure. This bath has your pet looking and smelling fresh and clean for their trip home. Often times, dogs that are meticulous at home are not the same way at the kennel. Their inner dog takes over and they may get soiled either from outside play time or just a general kennel smell that is unpleasant to owners.

How are my charges calculated?

It is exactly like any human hotel stay. The day of check in is charged as a full day regardless of check in time. Check out time is 12 noon of the last day. Sunday we are only open for a short time in the evening therefore Sundays are always charged as a full day.

Our Sunday hours are for client convenience. If you choose to check out your pet on Sunday you will be charged for that day of boarding.

What's difference between playtime and business walks?
Playtimes are off leash play sessions, one on one, in our play yards with a specialized technician. They are a great way for our guests to expel excess energy and explore the great outdoors. They are offered up to three times daily.

Business Walks are gentle leashed walks around our play yards. The purpose of business walks is to encourage our guest to relieve themselves in the grassed area.

Why are you only open in the evening on Sunday?

We are only open Sunday evenings for client convenience. This allows clients who wish to pick up their pets before returning to work Monday morning the opportunity to do so. Sundays are always charged as a full day of boarding.

Is there a charge for administering medications?

No. We will administer any medication free of charge. We do require that any pet receiving insulin come in for a trial stay, where we can administer the insulin at least two times, prior to officially boarding. This is to ensure that your pet is comfortable with our staff administering the injection and to avoid anyone having to pick up their pets earlier than intended.

Will my dogs play with other dogs?
We will not do group play in our facility. It is dangerous and risky to allow dogs from different households and backgrounds to play together. Dogs from the same household are allowed playtime together. Our goal is for your pet to feel safe and comfortable.
Why do you not participate in group play?
Group play can be dangerous. Different play styles and temperaments can cause friction within a group. Predicting pet’s reaction to each other is impossible. By eliminating this practice we are able to accommodate all breeds, temperaments and intact pets.
Can my intact, aggressive, or specific breed of pet board?
Yes. We accept all breeds, temperaments and intact pets. For the safety of our staff and to provide the best care for your pet, we will need to know the specifics of how to handle your pet’s needs.
Do you have someone on premises 24 hours a day?
Someone is on the premises the majority of the time per 24 hour period. We are not physically on the premises 24 hours a day, however, we are fully monitored 24 hours a day via video surveillance. We are also fully covered for other emergency response with our security company. We have a full facility generator to ensure there is never a loss of power. During extreme weather such as snow storms, hurricanes or other extreme weather events, the kennel is staffed 24 hours a day until roads are passable.
What vaccines does my pet need?
We require each Dog to be up to date with Rabies, DHLP (Or any combination of Distemper and Parvo), and Bordetella.

We require each Cat to be up to date with Rabies and FVRCP (Feline Distemper)

At this time we do not require the Canine Influenza but suggest you speak with your Veterinarian regarding your pet receiving this vaccination.

What is your cancellation policy?
Our policy states that 48 hour notice is required for cancellation. Cancelling after 48 hours will result in a $50 fee that will be charged to the card on file.
What are your weekend hours?
